Wire

In most of my work I use a variety of copper wire of vastly different shades and gauges; all harvested from the various electrical components on a vehicle. Most of the wire in the car is coated in thin plastic sheaths that can be removed to reveal the rich copper. The shade of copper is often dependent on the wire’s location and heat exposure. In some areas that are exposed to extreme heat the wire is coated in or even made entirely of stainless steel for added strength and temperature resistance. In some electrical components there are spools of Bright copper wire that is thin as a hair and hundreds of feet long. This extra thin thread-like wire is perfect for sewing, weaving and twisting into chains.
